8.7kV RANGE – 8,700 Volts, 800Amps, IP68, open cut coupler

The 8.7kV range was inspired by the 15,000 volts 4 Bolt coupler.
It was designed with the intention to create a smaller coupler for only 8,700 volts.
Utilising one solid face and body casting, the 8.7kV range provides a strong uniform casting and greater protection to the phase insulators.
This design incorporates the pilot with the earth providing greater earth connectivity and pilot control. It also allows the design to enclose the guide pin into the body of the casting, protecting the pin from external damage.
This design has been in service since 2008
